José Celso Martinez Corrêa, known as Zé Celso, is one of the most important figures related to Brazilian theater. Born in 1937, he stands out as one of the top directors, actors, playwrights and directors of Brazil.

His work, sometimes considered as orgiastic and cannibalistic, began in the late 50s, and resulted in the foundation of the influential Teatro Oficina in 1960.
